Hi, who are you?

I’m Jake Rodehuth-Harrison and I’m the founder and principal of HUBBAHUBBA, a design firm based in Los Angeles, California.

Six years after cofounding the AD100 interior design firm, ETC.etera, I’ve gone out on my own to create a new design adventure that will continue to create interiors, but also furniture, products, and whatever else might come along. Design is limitless, which can be both a blessing and a curse, so you never know what I might be scheming up next.

I grew up in a home that was continually being redecorated by my mother, a woman who taught me there is a major difference between simply furnishing a home and decorating it. It was always something I considered a hobby and it was only after I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 that I really realized it could be a career.

And what a career it’s been. Every project has been a learning process and an opportunity to help clients create spaces that are driven by narrative, as opposed to simply filling a room with the prettiest things you can acquire. It’s really about thinking about the why as well as the what.

Any truly successful design is equal parts form and function—and hopefully a little bit of magic.

So, what spaces have you designed?

Quite a few, actually.

Over the years, I’ve designed and help create private homes, boutique hotels, restaurants and even the environment for a 72 hour live stream. to celebrate a pop star’s album release.

As no two clients / houses / moods are the same, you’ll notice that the work varies from project to project. Clients are unique individuals with layered experiences and needs. Shouldn’t their spaces be an accurate portrayal of that?

You can view some of what I’ve done below.

And you make things too?

Loop Seating Collection and Block Coffee Tables

Sure do!

Often times, custom furniture is the way to go when designing a space, so that process has rolled into designing pieces that everyone can enjoy.

The goal is to create pieces that are timeless, refined and fun. Because after all, you can’t spell furniture with FUN.

Keep your eyes peeled for a relaunch of the Block Coffee Table (with some exciting variations!), Roly Poly Planter, and a very fun modular sofa system later in 2022.

Wait… haven’t I heard about you?

If you’re a fan of design, it’s quite possible. My last firm was part of the AD100 two years in a row (a dream come true!) and several works, both interiors and furniture, have been loved by various publications.

If you haven’t, take a peek at some select press below. .

Okay, last one… why HUBBAHUBBA?

Why not?

The name needed to be something that immediately tells you that while I take what I do seriously, I’m not a serious person. It rolls of the tongue nicely and frankly, it’s just fun to say.
