Bar Angeles

This space was fun way to use simple, utilitarian materials in a fresh way. Plywood, tile, and metal all bring in an industrial feeling, but pops of primary colors help it from feeling too sterile.

The bar combined a white penny tile facade, black formica countertops, and plywood storage with mirrored details to create something casual, but refined. Metal laboratory barstools complete the look.

The exterior features a glass block wall above and below a narrow rectangular window. The idea was to diffuse most of the view, but offer a small peek into the space for those walking by as well as eye level people watching for those sitting at the window.
